I. Who may enter:
- NU students and scholars
II. What to enter:
- There is no specific category
- Maximum submission: 1 photo per contestant
- Each photo should have a brief description (where and when the photo was taken; the story behind that photo; why you choose this photo; motivations, feelings, etc…)
III. Eligibility and Judging:
- All entries must have the size of 1.5 Megabytes or greater
- Submissions must be contestant/s original work
- Photos that won in previous Carnevale photo contests are not allowed to join
- Photos will be judged on originality, creativity, composition, artistic merit and the story the contestant wants to convey
- Judges: Carnevale Co-Chair Team (First Round), Professors from College of Arts, Media and Design & NU Students (Second Round)
+ First Round: 10 photos will be chosen by the judges to enter the Second Round
+ Second Round:
· 1 Winner and 2 Runners-up will be chosen among top 10 photos
· A Most-voted photo will be voted by students in Curry Indoor Quad from March 10 to 23
IV. Timeline:
- Submission begins: Monday, February 3, 2014
- Deadline to submit photos: 11:59 p.m., March 10, 2014
- Results announced for Top 10 photos: March 14, 2013 (through email and on ISSI facebook)
- Judging for second round: March 15 to 23
- Results announced for second round: March 25 (through email and on ISSI facebook)
- Winning photos will be displayed at: Pop-up Art show, 405 Ell Hall, March 27, 2014
V. Prizes:
- Winner: a black Polaroid 300 instant camera
- Runners-up: a 32GB memory card/each runner-up
- Most-voted photo: Lomography Konstruktor Do-It-Yourself 35mm Film SLR Camera Kit
